About

Society has fallen far from the noble ideals that gave rise to those significant advances in liberty over the past centuries. As a consequence, we have found ourselves increasingly enmeshed in a dynamic that is propelling us collectively toward an unwinnable thermonuclear war between great powers on the one hand and a systemic economic breakdown on the other. The Dialogos Forum exists to provide a window into understanding this collective crisis in thinking and also inspire a healthier paradigm founded upon systemic solutions, and historic lessons geared towards win-win cooperation and peace

The Project

Dialogos is an initiative designed by Dr. Edward Lozansky, Founder and President of The American University in Moscow, a non-profit corporation registered in Washington, DC. The forum provides regular expert analysis on diagnosis and concrete solutions to the existential systemic crises threatening human civilization, with a focus on stopping the march to World War 3 and restoring a sane paradigm of respect and cooperation between great civilizations. The regular live roundtable sessions give a large international audience the chance to interact with a wide array of expert analysts from academia, journalism, and politics. They are designed to teach both citizens and policy makers the art of statecraft while encouraging citizen diplomacy."

Heritage

What is AUIM

The American University in Moscow is devoted to promoting all forms of peace building measures ranging from cultural diplomacy, war-avoidance conferences, educational initiatives, and other forms of exchanges between citizens of all cultures. This is an informal description of the AUiM, trying to describe why and how the project is important.

Founded in 1991, the AUiM evolved from a Moscow-based university, towards a much broader platform hosting congressional events bringing together policy makers from the USA and Russia who sought dialogue and cooperation instead of hegemony and war.

In September 2024, the AUiM teamed up with the Montreal-based non profit, The Rising Tide Foundation, led by Matthew Ehret (Senior Fellow at the American University in Moscow) to launch a new program of regular peace round tables designed to bring together leading experts from the scientific, diplomatic, journalistic and academic worlds to explore solutions to the greatest threats facing humanity in the 21st century.

In May 2025, this project merged with Pluralia.

role

Edward Lozanski

Dr. Edward Lozansky (1944-2025) graduated from the National Research Nuclear University in Moscow and received his Ph.D. in theoretical and mathematical physics from the Moscow Institute of Atomic Energy, named after Kurchatov. In 1976, Dr. Lozansky moved to the United States, where he conducted research at the Laser Fusion lab at the University of Rochester in New York and taught at American University in Washington, D.C. In 1990, he founded the American University in Moscow, the first private higher education school in Russia. In addition to educational programs, the American University in Moscow is involved in organizing conferences and seminars, promoting U.S.-Russia science, education, and cultural exchanges. Dr. Lozansky is Professor Emeritus of the National Research Nuclear University in Moscow and Moscow State University. He is the author of 13 books and over a thousand articles in physics, mathematics, biophysics, and political science.
To my knowledge, Professor Edward Lozansky is the person who can best lead "Dialogos," the project of building a healthier international paradigm, founded on systemic solutions and historical lessons geared toward win-win cooperation and peace.
